RE: Will you go with us?

Dear family, friends and business associates,

In September 2017 I was privileged to travel to Port-au-Prince, Haiti; visit STEP Seminary; and attend the dedication ceremony of their new school building.  The ribbon cutting marked the completion of construction that began after the 7.0 earthquake of 2010.  This past January marked the 9 year anniversary of that terrible event.  That earthquake caused catastrophic damage and an estimated death toll of over 100,000 to 300,000 people (the range is amazingly broad but huge!).
Just as STEP Seminary’s old buildings collapsed because of the earthquake thousand of homes were also devastated.  In 2017 we learned that STEP, partnering with churches from the United States, is helping their neighbors build new homes.  We were able to tour the neighborhood just outside the STEP campus.  The Lord burdened our hearts to partner with STEP and to build a house desperately needed by one of these families in another mission trip.

This will be the first building trip for Faith Bible Church.  There will be 9 of us attending and I have the privilege to go with two of my sons, Ian (18) and Aiden (15).  It will be the first mission trip for my boys and will be my first mission trip since I was a teenager. Our total cost of the trip is approximately $20,000 which includes $6,000 for the building materials for the house and then our travel costs to get to and from Port-au-Prince, Haiti (approximately $1500 per team member).

I’m humbled to to ask for any financial contribution that you would consider making to help me, Ian and Aiden make the trip – we need approximately $4500 for the three of us to make the trip.  However, much more importantly, we’d really appreciate your prayers as we want to have our hearts and minds centered on our Savior Jesus Christ and be the best witness for Him as we engage with the family and others we come in contact with while building the house.

In conclusion, I almost decided not to take this plunge.  I was letting the financial needs dictate to myself that it wasn’t the right timing and thereby letting myself out of going!  However, I’m very confident the Lord will provide for us and that He has burdened my heart to take this trip and I’m hopeful that He is pleased with the world He allows us to do and His name is ultimately glorified.

Would you partner with us and give through prayer and any financial contribution the Lord may put on your heart?  If you want to give, you can give online at http://faithbibleok.com/G2M  or
